This advertisement invites eligible Indian citizens (domicile of Assam) to apply for Grade-IV posts at APSC. There are 20 vacancies listed with reservations across categories (including PwBD and women reservation).
Who can apply — Eligibility (deep details)
Citizenship & Domicile: Must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam. Domicile proof such as a valid Permanent Resident Certificate or Employment Exchange Registration of Assam must be uploaded.
Educational qualification: Minimum Class VIII pass and maximum HSSLC (Class XII) or equivalent. If a candidate has education higher than Class XII on the date of application, they are ineligible.
Age limit: 18–40 years as on 01-Jan-2025 with statutory relaxations: SC/ST +5 years (up to 45), OBC/MOBC/Tea-Tribe/ Adivasi +3 years (up to 43), PwBD +10 years. Evidence of age (HSLC admit card, birth certificate, PAN, Aadhaar, driving license) will be used.
Selection process & syllabus (what to prepare)
Selection is two-phase:
- Phase I — Screening Test (OMR MCQ): 2 hours, 100 marks. Sections and marks: Arithmetic 20, GK (Assam specific) 20, Reasoning 20, Social Science 20, Science 10, Elementary English 10.
- Phase II — Interview/Viva-voce: Candidates are shortlisted in category-wise ratio 1:5 from Phase I for interview. Bring originals and self-attested copies of all required documents.
Application fee, processing and payment FAQ
The official application fee is NIL per government notification; however, the CSC-SPV portal charges a processing fee (reported as Rs. 47.20 per candidate). Applications without the processing fee will be rejected. Fees once paid are not refundable.
Documents to upload & format tips
Upload PDF copies of:
- Date of Birth proof (HSLC admit card / Birth certificate / PAN / Aadhaar / Driving license)
- Educational certificates and mark sheets
- Caste certificate (if applying under reserved category) issued by Govt. of Assam
- PwBD certificate (where applicable — 40% benchmark), Employment certificate / NOC for Government employees
- Recent passport photograph (50–200 KB) and scanned signature (50–200 KB).
How to apply — step by step
- Visit the APSC online recruitment portal and register (click the Grade-IV button → Register).
- Login with registered email/mobile and password; fill the form and upload all required documents.
- Preview carefully — once submitted, no editing is allowed. After preview, proceed to payment of the processing fee via the portal/CSC.
- On successful submission you will receive an auto-generated confirmation e-mail / SMS. Take a printout of the final submitted form and payment receipts.
